In 2017, Jean Sulpice moved back to the Lake Annecy of his early years as a cook next to Marc Veyrat, for whom he was second de cuisine for five years. It was at that time that he met Magali, a sommelier at the time, who became his wife and the mother of their two children. They both decided to move back to the shores of Lake Annecy to write a new chapter in the Sulpice history of the Auberge du Père Bise. And a successful one at that. As soon as the widely renovated hotel reopened, it was awarded five stars and Jean Sulpice was named Chef of the Year 2018 by Gault & Millau. In February 2018, the gastronomic restaurant received 2 Michelin stars.

Lake Annecy

(CNN) – Auf einem fahrradähnlichen Sitz sitzend, ist mein Rücken aufgerichtet und meine Beine passen gerade in den Raum vor mir

Ich teste die neueste Version des berühmten Sitzmöbelherstellers Aviointeriors, der derzeit auf der Aircraft Interiors Expo 2019 (AIX) in Hamburg zu sehen ist.

Auf der gleichen Konferenz machte Aviointeriors im vergangenen Jahr mit dem Skyrider 2.0 Schlagzeilen. Jetzt ist es zurück, mit der Version 3.0, um die Welt der Luftfahrt wieder zu rocken.

Bereit zum Abheben?

Das Wichtigste zuerst:

Gaetano Perugini, technischer Berater bei Aviointeriors, möchte betonen, dass es nicht darum geht, “Rinderzucht” zu schaffen und so viele Passagiere wie möglich einzudämmen.

“Die Botschaft

ist, dass wir nicht Tausende von Menschen in die Kabine bringen wollen. Wir möchten eine Konfiguration mit mehreren Klassen anbieten, was heutzutage unmöglich ist, wenn Sie die maximale Passagierlast erreichen wollen”, sagt Perugini gegenüber CNN Travel.

Normalerweise ist die einzige Möglichkeit für eine Fluggesellschaft, die maximale Kapazität zu erreichen, ihre Flugzeuge ausschließlich mit Economy-Sitzen auszustatten. Der Skyrider benötigt weit weniger Platz als ein durchschnittlicher Economy-Sitz – nur 23 Zoll -. Die Idee ist, dass Fluggesellschaften ihre Economy-Sitze einklemmen könnten und es dennoch anderen Passagieren erlauben würden, andere Arten von Tickets für denselben Flug zu buchen.

“Das bedeutet also, dass Sie in derselben Kabine Standard-Economy, Premium-Economy oder Business-Class und Ultra-Basic-Economy haben werden – eine Innovation für die Fluggesellschaft und den Passagier”, erklärt Perugini. “Das ist der wahre Grund für den Skyrider.”

Anspruchsvolle Spezifikationen

Das Design

wurde bereits 2010 vorgeschlagen, hatte jedoch einige strukturelle Probleme, die den Start verhinderten.

Die zweite Version, die 2018 uraufgeführt wurde, entwickelte das Design mit einer Stange, um den Sitz in Position zu halten.

Diese neue Ausgabe ist polfrei. Perugini sagt, dass 2.0 und 3.0 zwei verschiedene Möglichkeiten bieten, wie der Sitz installiert und in die Praxis umgesetzt werden kann.

Wie hoch ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass dies tatsächlich geschieht?

Perugini sagt, dass der Sitz viel Interesse hatte, obwohl noch niemand die Kugel gebissen und sie bestellt hat.

Es gibt eine letzte Hürde für die Hersteller – anders als die Reaktionen der Passagiere.

“Wenn Sie die Spezifikationen des A380 oder des A320 – oder des A321 oder des 737 lesen, lesen Sie, dass es nicht erlaubt ist, bei einem Abstand von weniger als 28 [Zoll] installiert zu werden, während der Abstand des Skyrider 23 ist. “erklärt der Ingenieur

Für den Moment stellt die kleine Größe des Skyrider die Regeln und Vorschriften der Luftfahrt vor. Könnte sich das ändern?

CNN Travel’s Urteil zum Skyrider-Sitzerlebnis? Nun, es ist nicht so unbequem, wie man es erwarten könnte – aber da meine Erwartungen niedrig waren, sagt das nicht viel aus.

Auf den Mock-ups bei AIX zu sitzen fühlt sich ein bisschen wie auf einem Fahrradsattel an: Für eine Weile gut, aber ich bin nur ein paar Minuten da und kann mir nicht viel länger vorstellen.

Außerdem scheint es nicht für jeden Körpertyp geeignet zu sein – oder wirklich für jeden Körpertyp. Ob Sie groß oder klein sind, Sie werden schmerzen und sich unwohl fühlen.

Sogar Perugini räumt ein, dass dies nicht unbedingt eine angenehme Erfahrung ist, aber er rechnet mit einer kurzen Fahrt, sagen wir, ein kurzer Sprung in ganz Europa, es könnte funktionieren.

“Ich werde ehrlich sein, ich glaube nicht, dass jemand glücklich ist, acht oder zehn Stunden in dieser Konfiguration zu bleiben”, gibt er zu.
