On June 9th through 13th, 2025, is the Ocean Conference in Nice, France

The topic is ocean pollution,

And its preservation to save humanity.

The objective

is to create awareness and, of course, raise millions of dollars.

What I don’t understand is why they are not raising the core issue of the problem, which starts with some third-world countries. We have been watching videos over the last few years in which garbage trucks empty their loads of garbage into rivers. why? Because the governments don’t provide a proper pickup, disposal, and recycling system, therefore, garbage is deposited onto the streets, sidewalks, or just dumped into creeks or rivers, which then eventually reach the oceans. (Watch my video about your favorite fruits and vegetables ot of Spain)

Besides chemical, nutrient, metal, and toxin pollutions, the core or main problem is the population at large, not just manufacturers! That is where investments have to be made, to provide and subsidize projects in countries that cannot afford and provide a proper collection and recycling plant.

Another way of eliminating plastic, especially bottles, is to re-implement a system as we had many years ago, use glass bottles instead of plastic for most of the beverages, and add a return deposit for each bottle; this way it will eliminate most plastic bottles, and the glass bottles may be reused.

As far as chemical, nutrient, and metal-toxin pollution, establish strict laws, rules, and regulations, and establish an international government agency or committee to oversee corporations and manufacturers, to make sure they follow the rules. Don’t just talk about it over the next few years during your conferences, take action and do it!

In November 2025, the second COP30 will be held in Brazil, the first COP was in 2009 in Copenhagen, last one was in Paris in 2015, these discussion have been going on for 16 years, there will be more talk and discussions about the worlds environment in Brazil, as far as i understand the only thing being accomplished as of today, is the manucaturing of many electric cars allover the world, good start! However, with everything changing to electric all over the world, it means more digging for Lithium, which is going to be causing a problem in the long run, towards the core issue we want to eliminate in the first place, the environment! And what about the disposal of all the millions of batteries? They don’t know what to do with all the disposed wings of the Windmills everywhere yet!

Conclusion, and what can be done?

Reduce Plastic Use: Reusable bags, bottles, and containers actually matter.

Proper Waste Management: Especially in coastal and developing regions, invest in, subsidize proper recycling plants in third-world countries

Green Agriculture: Limiting fertilizer use reduces nutrient runoff.

International Cooperation: The ocean doesn’t respect borders, so global policy is crucial (e.g., UN’s Marine Biodiversity Treaty), World Government Watchdog Agency

Support Cleanup Efforts: Organizations like The Ocean Cleanup and Surfrider Foundation are on the front lines.

Why It Matters

The ocean gives us every second breath we take—literally. Phytoplankton, tiny ocean plants, produce over half the world’s oxygen. If we pollute the oceans, we’re slowly suffocating ourselves.

Marine Life Destruction: Turtles eat plastic bags thinking they’re jellyfish. Birds feed bottle caps to chicks. Coral reefs bleach and die.

Human Health: Contaminated seafood, polluted beach waters, and air-borne chemicals from sea spray can all affect human health.

Climate Impact: Healthy oceans absorb carbon dioxide and regulate the climate. Damaged ecosystems lose this ability.

Economic Loss: Fishing, tourism, and maritime industries suffer when ecosystems collapse.

God Bless this Beautiful Planet!

And for our sake! Don’t pollute!!

The air is clean!?

Not just, but especially due to the Covid Pandemic, many people deal with the indoor climate, but what does that actually mean if you take the phrase about clean air literally !? Fresh air is free of disturbing particles and substances? The air that we breathe outside is constantly in motion and very quickly mixes, however, less so in closed rooms where the pollutants and viruses can concentrate and stay more easily. In fresh air, they are quickly distributed into the atmosphere. Also, exhaled Carbon dioxide can be problematic. Up to 1000 parts per million in the room air is okay. If two people in a small room sleep with tightly closed, sealed windows, it could reach up to 2000 parts per million after one night, consequences the day after are headaches, fatigue, and reduced ability to concentrate.

People often do not even notice or know when to ventilate

The best way is to exchange the air three times throughout the day by ventilating, especially in view of the coronavirus, air filters in the room are not a substitute for airing the rooms. If a healthy indoor climate is an objective, you cannot pay attention only to the concentration of carbon dioxide and vapors, but also to the humidity and temperature. Air that is too dry can dry out the mucous membranes and so the body has a harder time rejecting and remove the dust particles you inhale.

As a result, it is easier for pathogens to penetrate the body and you may catch a cold more quickly. A bowl of water near your heating unit or on top of the radiator, or room plants should help to ensure good air in the room.

If you have problems with air being too dry, you should consider buying a good room air humidifier. The humidity should not be too high. If moist room air condenses on cold walls, mold may easily develop.

Especially for allergy sufferers, asthmatics, or people with other lung diseases, mold spores in the air can be a real problem

Strange:

99 percent of human beings are able to drink from a glass or cup. Nevertheless, it has become customary to use Straws. In Switzerland alone, billions of drinking straws are used every year – and most of them are made of plastic. To make a contribution to reducing the horrendous amounts of plastic waste, there are now in Supermarket restaurants only sustainable Straws and sustainable take-away cutlery. The straws are from thick cardboard, which is stable against liquids even after many hours. Plastic forks, spoons, and knives are replaced with those made of wood, which in turn is FSC-certified. Cutlery and Straws from renewable raw materials can be easily disposed of through home trash disposal.

Through this measure, the restaurants save a total of five tons of plastic a year.

On our last trip to Spain,

we drove along Costa Blanca, arriving in Valencia we drove down to Alicante, Mojacar to Almeria. It is a beautiful drive, Valencia is probably my favorite city, on the way down we stayed in a villa near Denia & Xabia, the beaches were fantastic, and the food was great and reasonably priced, especially coming from expensive Switzerland!<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block; text-align: center;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-4134395131730757" data-ad-slot="1845267896"></ins>

The next day

we continued towards Benidorm, Cartagena to Mojacar where we stayed in another villa high above the village overlooking the Mediterranean; Mojacar features great beaches, clubs, and cafes along the beach and lots of restaurants with great seafood. On another day we decided to drive further south to Almeria, and that is when we came across the plastic, greenhouse fields that stretch over 450 square kilometers (the state of New York measures 141,300 square kilometers!) passing by mile after mile through these plastic tents along the highway, one does not think anything negative about it, we all enjoy the beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables we pick up in our supermarkets and stores! that are originating from these areas.

Some of the things we saw

stopping there was incredibly disturbing, it is visual proof that mankind just doesn’t give a hoot about the future of this planet, it is all about the money! The next time you purchase vegetables and fruits from Spain I would like you to remember what I saw in this post, and maybe you should consider boycotting these farmers until they get their sh….t together and stop polluting the ocean with their plastic greenhouses!

Since I started a monthly clean-up of our local Swiss lac shores in the canton that I live in, and observed the state of our planet with plastic contamination all over the world, I started to look and investigate some of the worst contaminators on our planet. In my opinion, it is not just plastic, paper, and metal pollution that is a problem; it is also emission pollution through our cars and factories. In this case, it is very difficult for an ordinary citizen to do anything about it as it is the government’s duty and responsibility to resolve, eliminate, change, and punish the violators.

However, as a citizen, we can and should be aware of our surroundings, teach our kids what to do, and respect the environment. After googling some keywords like plastic, I came across a video by Simon Reeves, an English BBC contributor, who traveled along the same route we did.

I am adding a link to his video on Facebook. Depending on where you live, you may be able to watch the video, but some areas, like mine, didn’t allow me to view it because of legal rights or whatever.

It is appalling

what happens with the old, leftover, replaced plastics from these greenhouses? Plus under what terrible conditions the immigrants live working on these farms is another disaster.

Here is a link concerning that problem:

Channel 4 News Report

You can play a part in the preservation of the environment by sharing news and opinions about the preservation of our planet, that is the only effective way to make people aware of what is going on.

God Bless this planet

and help the human race to understand what’s at stake!
