Swiss Chocolate Takes Flight: Aeschbach Chocolatier Partners with SWISS International Air Lines
Swiss craftsmanship, innovation, and a passion for fine chocolate come together at 35,000 feet.
September 2025 | Root, Switzerland
A remarkable success story has taken flight in the heart of Switzerland. Aeschbach Chocolatier, an independent, family-rooted chocolate company based in Root near Lucerne, has become an official partner of SWISS International Air Lines.
Beginning September 3, 2025, passengers travelling in SWISS Business and Premium Economy Class can enjoy a delicious selection of handcrafted Aeschbach pralines and truffles, bringing an authentic taste of Swiss chocolate craftsmanship to the skies.
Two Years of Passion and Perfection
This exciting partnership is the culmination of more than two years of intensive development, creativity, and dedication.
Under the guidance of Sales Director Markus Lusser, the Aeschbach team worked tirelessly to create something truly special.
New recipes were developed, elegant chocolate shapes designed, and every detail carefully tested and refined. From flavour and presentation to packaging and sustainability, nothing was left to chance.
The result is a chocolate experience designed to meet the highest expectations, both on the ground and above the clouds.
Beautiful Packaging with Sustainability in Mind
The chocolates are initially presented in an elegant black box made from high-quality, sustainable paper.
But Aeschbach’s vision extends beyond appearance.
An innovative, reusable presentation box is already in development, combining sophisticated design with environmental responsibility.
Particularly impressive is the specially developed cellulose insert, a unique European innovation that is industrially compostable and can be sealed airtight to preserve the delicate flavours and aromas of the chocolates.
It is a remarkable example of how traditional craftsmanship and modern environmental awareness can work together.
A Swiss Chocolate Tradition Since 1972
The Aeschbach story began in 1972, when Charles Aeschbach and his wife Erika founded their chocolate business in a small workshop in Zug.
Armed with craftsmanship, determination, and a love of chocolate, they built a company that would grow into one of Central Switzerland’s respected chocolatiers.
Today, CEO Jürg Rogenmoser continues that tradition.
Having been part of the Aeschbach family for 37 years, he has helped guide the transformation from a small artisanal business into a modern chocolate company, without losing the passion and personal touch that made it special.
As Rogenmoser explains:
“Our chocolate is created from genuine passion, by people who work with heart and dedication. Combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology is not a contradiction for us, but an everyday reality. Seeing our creations now enjoyed above the clouds fills us with pride.”
Two Swiss Originals, One Shared Vision
What makes the partnership between Aeschbach Chocolatier and SWISS International Air Lines such a natural fit?
Both companies share a commitment to exceptional quality, attention to detail, and creating memorable experiences for their customers.
For Aeschbach, the collaboration represents far more than a business achievement. It demonstrates what a dedicated Swiss company can accomplish through creativity, teamwork, and a willingness to innovate.
From a modest chocolate workshop in Zug to the cabins of Switzerland’s international airline, Aeschbach’s journey is a celebration of Swiss entrepreneurship and craftsmanship.
And now, travellers from around the world can enjoy a little piece of Switzerland — one exquisite chocolate at a time.
A delicious partnership, proudly made in Switzerland.
